Jan Fellstrom RIP

Post by Uncle Bob » Mon Feb 27, 2023 8:05 pm

Not sure how this passed me (us?) by, but Jan Fellstrom passed away spring 2022, nearly a year ago.
By chance I saw a post from Taiwan that mentioned it (from a university Jan had worked in for a little while).

For me he was the designer of the Katana, his name is under every design sketch I have seen. He is buried in the Black Forest near to where he lived - maybe one day a German Katana Rally will be down that way (or even a EuroKat) so I have a dual excuse to visit that area.

In honour, here's the period review from MCN dated Dec 1980.

That low angle shot of the 1100 with the stubby pipes looks great. But the production seat looks better.
