Language jokes
True story only English native speakers (or similar) might find weird:
In the town of Ahaus, which is not too far from where I live, there is a Inn called „Sucks Manns“. You might already associate something, although that name doesn’t suggest anything like that in German language. Strange enough, there’s not only that name, it is also home to a shooting club.
Next lesson I tell you a story about that li‘l old town just next to the Dutch border called Wankum.
Cold shot fact-based nonsense.

Re: Language jokes
Once we're at names of towns: there's a tiny little spot deep down in Austria, only just a coupla inhabitants despite the suggestive name of Fuckersberg.

If you are ever touring way up North of Scotland, take the ferry up to Shetland and visit Twatt….

Re: Language jokes
There is a Twatt on Orkney as well... (possibly more than one but can't comment) - I did visit once with my brother on bikes to get the pic of him standing next to the road sign but unfortunately there was no sign to be seen
As an aside Kryten, I am still yet visit Fusty Weeds and get the photo.
Or for that matter Slutshole Lane which is near Attleborough...!

Re: Language jokes
We also like some of the shop names in France which can have a different meaning if read in English...
We had had a long riding day so Multi Pains was about right... We were laughing so much trying to take this pic and there were 2 old woman sitting having a coffer outside who must have been wondering why it was all so funny to us.
Would have worked even better if the crash helmets were held there without hands...

Re: Language jokes
They've probably taken all the road signs away for that reason. But there is Twatt Church further up the road at Bursary.
Watch out for the locals though, as an angry Orkadian is a sight and sound to behold

A bit further south….
Near Colchester in Essex (Land of the White Range Rover) is the quaint rural village of Fingringhoe……
