Hmmmmmmmm thats it then, dipped and scrubbed before painting it shall be, as for washing off with petrol........... Thats a big no no for me , It would do my nut in to paint the motor, take the carbs off, have a spill then start all over again .......
A mate of mine (I have lots of handy mates :) ) is big into the aerospace crap so will be asking him about paint which wont go yellow or wash off, he's mentioned stuff they use inside turbines before so a quick phone call in order me thinks :) maybe there is a few gallons hanging around some defense establishment :) :)

Steve I like the sound of it, I can even cure it in the oven in work :D are you sure this wont wash of with petrol ???

We had the rep from PPG in the factory today but I missed him and couldn't pick his brains, We have aluminium coatings for plain steel, tinplate and aluminium that cure at 205C for 20 minutes so i'm pretty sure there are 205 litre drums of the stuff right under my nose !
I could spray my knackered cylinders with the stuff then leave it in the oven to heat cycle for a week, soon see if its going to discolour 8-)

But for £20 i'll use por20 as long as its not going to react to petrol

Thanks for the offer Steve, But as long as I know its not going to wash off I'll happily buy myself a tin of it. :)
