clutch basket end float Kat1100

how much in out play should there be on a kat1100 clutch basket ? with the cover off i can pull/push the whole clutch assembly in/out by about 1mm, i can also rock it if i hold it lightly top and bottom.

I'm in the process of taking it off but the nuts been done up way too tight so it's putting up a fight atm.

Not a lot of help Mal but I ran mine like that for quite a while including a trip to the Bulldog. Rattled a bit until it finally moved enough to touch the inside of the crankcase behind the pick up cover, made a real nasty noise then.

Hi Mal
Check that all the washers/ shims are behind the clutch basket...........the GS1000 and GS range had various differnt size shims behind the basket to take up the end float. But all it did was quieten them down!
