Clutch rattle Pop up

Post by harriskat » Sun Oct 13, 2013 9:24 am

Ever since I have had my pop up it has a clutch rattle when on idle and the clutch is out. Dip the clutch and it goes away. the engine is sweet as a nut if it wasnt for the bloody rattle. can it be gotten rid of???? if so, how?

Balance the carbs, that should reduce it a fair bit, It's probably the damper springs in the clutch back plate a little loose.

No it'll go quiet with the lever pulled in. are the carbs set up for that pipe ?. if not that won't help either.

Always been like this. Even before the pipe went on. I am thinking about getting her set up on a dyno over winter

that'll be a good idea, you can still balance the carbs in the mean time, should quieten it down some.

Out of interest do you know what the exhaust was originally intended for ?. i'm guessing not Kat as the down pipes sit low.

The headers where on it when I bought it. And pretty sure it's the right one for the bike. Its a predator system. And obviously the can was made by me :)

Cheers, you should have made the can louder, your clutch rattle would disappear then
