1100 Exhausts

Post by mikefido » Sun Oct 11, 2015 1:29 pm

Thinking it's about time I smartened the bike up with a new exhaust system, got a rather tired Harris Performance on it at the mo, which I like the look of, but the collector under the engine seems to ground over sleeping policemen a bit to easily.

Looking for a 4 into 1 to replace it but can only seem to find Vance and Hines ones which look to have the same clearance problems and not to keen on the style of them.
Anyone recomend anytrhing, even mis-matched bits that I can throw together?

Cubeconn has got an Eagle mach 7 and Andyswad has a Marving Race....both of which I like the look of.
The other option would be a custom made system in either stainless or titanium from Exhaustcraft in cumbria.
Cheapest of these is the marving depending where you get it from
The Eagle is £530ish
Exhaustcraft stainless about £550 and their titanium version probably costs two assorted limbs and an eye! :D
GSX1100SD
GS550MX.....5 year old grandaughter thinks it's hers!

I didn't like the V&M style either. I like the Eagle. I have pictures if you want to see on bike. £500 was about base price. I went for a 400mm can which added some more. There are more options on the German site which is where I bough direct from. Has removable db killer. With it fitted jetting is OK, without probably needs jetting but I haven't.

I got mine around Christmas as both the last 2 xmases they have had a sale with 10% off so I would wait until then and see and hope exchange rate says good!

Be great if you could post a picture of what it looks like on the bike.
I'd rather pay a bit more and get one I like the look of!

Anyone know if any other downpipes from other bikes fit the GSX1100 engine?

Aftermarket headers for B12 or GSXR 1100 engines will do nicely. I'm talking Akrapovic and BOS. You might need a 2nd set of header gaskets in cases, but that's it.

Couple of pics with the Eagle on. It retains the centre stand. They say no Oil Filter access with it on but I'm not so sure - I'll try initially with it in situ.

This is the bike I saw it on first (image from the net). I did ask for the same size silencer as this one and have just realised mine is longer! I thought they said this was 400mm so that is what I ordered. I'll have to check now.

That looks better than the V&H (in my opinion!) and if I can put the centre stand back on even better!

V&H finishes at the rear pegs... flows with the hangers perfectly and sounds the nuts imo :)
