How do you remove an oil filter cover stud that's stripped its thread?
Are we talking welding something to it?

That’s one way Nikki, but you could try tightening two nuts together on the stud and then undo the rear nut or you could buy a stud extractor set

I had this last week and as said 2x nuts tighten down the undo the one nearer the crankcase. It should come off . The stud is blinding the middle , so just tightening to extract like can sometimes work ....won't.

I then bought all new studs from a chap on eBay , with new dome nuts and washers £8.45 incl signed for postage ...arrived next day in stainless!
