I’ve had a bit of a brainstorm (very painful

) I really like the idea of the low maintenance Motobatt but having no power in the garage rules out the use of an optimate. So what do you think of one of these solar chargers? I could screw it in to the garage roof and have the battery on charge when I’m not using the bike

would it be powerful enough to keep it topped up or will it fry the battery if I left it connected for weeks at a time? Your thought please.

I am not surprised. Recent new regulations mean that you need to have a chemical licence to buy sulphuric acid. So you are allegedly only able to buy batteries that are wet from a registered supplier with acid filled already.
AGM batteries can be supplied via a courier or post, but wet batteries are not allowed as far as I know.
This is Wemoto's take on it

That’s brilliant Bob just what I was looking for. I just showed the link I posted to give people an idea of what I was thinking about. I’m thinking I’ll go down the Motobatt route now I know my solar panel idea is feasible
