I bought two from machine mart as my last ones have disappeared into the mists of time/ someone else’s tool box :roll:
Cheap & cheerful but do the job fine.
They work for a range of sizes so make sure you get the correct one ;)
There rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!

never use them. put the pistons in the barrels first, with the small ends below thee barrel, then lower the barrels onto the cases and put the pins through. its fiddly, but no more fiddly than using ring compressors.

Hmm yes. I have used those in the past on engines with split big ends as opposed to roller bearings. You clamp the piston and rings and then feed the assembled rod and piston in from the combustion chamber direction then make up the Big End on the pre-installed crank.

Can't remember if you can unwind them and if it would be a major faff as well as you don't have a whole lot of room to play with.

Bikerstoolbox sells them but a little bit dearer than MachineMart, but you can always ring Ralph Ferrand who owns BikersToolbox and talk to him directly, I have bought stuff from him before and he is very helpful.

Yeah if you accept the fact he is also selling the stuff at least you know. He runs his own bike shop some where in the South West I think. But he also writes for CMM mostly about big Kawasaki's.

There are several chinese variations on the same style but those look simple to use and don't seem to get in the way.

You can make your own using Tennants* lager cans and large jubilee clips, but lets face it we're just addicted to shiny new toys in the toolbox, eh? :D :D :D











*It does have to be Tennants apparently :lol: I tried it with McEwans Red Death on a Royal Enfield many moons ago and it was just a disaster :lol: :lol:
