Cunning plan with refernce to genuine look exhausts

sparki sorted it. In answer to your question my plan is just to get hold of original down pipes and copy them for each of the models above 650/550 pop up and 750/1100.
These silencers are designed so that the original down pipe once cut from the silencer of the actual orignal which is rotted just slips into the silencer and is clamped where the originals had a weld anyway.
So they shouldn't look shed built at all.
Just need a contact who is willing to bend some pipes.

Spoke to Dave who owns exhaust craft and explained our plan, basically it all depends on the bends of the down pipes if they are the same he can do if not no.
I have to trace the outline and send it to him , he'll then let us know , if not he will advise us as to who to contact.

With regards to the silencers have you got the supplier for these and are there specific ones for the 650!

As mentioned at the beginning of the post at this point I am just gauging interest, getting the information together .. It takes quite a bit of time to gather everyone to acknowledge then send in their thoughts. More people will be aware once the newsletter goes out.

The company in question. Don't do a specific 650 Katana silencer, but as shown even the 1100 aren't that far off.

With reference to time scale certainly no descion can be made until after the AGM in November .

I have in the past had things made , because there was much interest in the items , but once made we have them in stock , mainly because people don't need them yet! Or because at that moment they needed one but have since sold the bike. Etc.

The members of the owners club subs pay for the production of the items we have made as well as events so the coffers are no unlimited. So we have to be sure that what we fork out for is a solid investment.
At the end of the day these bikes are over 30 years old I am sure they can wait a touch longer to it right.

No offence is meant in the tone of the post , it is just I am aware this post is supposed to run for the obvious reasons , so I have tried to explain and answer questions As people who later read it will want to ask.

They may not be identical to the originals, but they are kin close. My pop ups got a n.eta 4-1 and it looks crap.
Pencil me in for a pair of pipes please fossie. Let me know when you intend to order and if i have the funds you can count me in.

I should have posted here before because while we were trying to get the down pipes sorted Sito the company that make the silencers went into administration and won't be making anymore classic bike exhausts. There are still some in stock, but you will need down pipes from an original system.

The reason is wasn't posted in here was because it was in the members area in the group pop up thread, however because of the lack of response
We were 3 weeks to late in finding a company to make thrown pipes for us...........

so sorry but this is no longer a viable cunning plan!
Like Boldricks cunning plans disappointment is a side effect.
