Hi lads,
I am driving arround since June on the bike and it is going to pretty ok as far as I can tell ;)
I have done about 3000 km, I use it to go to work and back about 40km a day at the moment.

On time to time, the cold start does not work, I have to use some easy start to get her started.

Basically most of the time it is ok, hit the button start then I have to accelerate gently for a while, and then I go and it is all fine.

But sometime I hit the button, it start but as soon as I accelerate the bike cut off, and then nothing to do to put her back on except add some easy start and she fire no problem.

I have 4 new plugs, new air filter with air fit club custom on, 4 in 1 Scorpion can on.

I never use the choke, I try few time but it did not seems to help.

I which to get it started a bit better. So any idea welcome.

It might have happen to me about 10 times over the last 3000km which is not often but still it is getting me when it happen.

It also does not happen in the morning when I get the bike outside the garage. But when I leave work, the bike is park in a wind place which I would increase the cold start issue.

I have also notice that the bike as a problem to run smoothely when cold I have to rev it otherwise it does stall.

It look to me that all those problem could get sorted if it was running a bit more rich, but I am not sure.

What do you reckon?

I am open to all suggestion obviously.
Cheers

id start by removing stripping and ultrasonically cleaning the carbs.

I have done that about 3000km ago. I change the full set of gasket, o-ring, basically the carbs are like new.

And the bike has always done that since I have it.

I don't understand which adding the easy start does to make it fire up straight after.

Are u using the choke on yours?

Do you touch the throttle when you are starting the bike from cold?

If so .....dont!

Obviously if its always done this then you didnt clean the carbs enough first time round or theres still a blockage in the cold start circuit.

sounds to me like another strip and clean is required!

No I don't touch the throttle when I start her up. I only press the button and they she start, generally then the rev increase a little bit and then when it decrease then rev the bike by accelerating.

For the cold start circuit, 1 cold pipe was missing, and 2 were broken. So I fixed all of them by using some putty paste to glue them back, and clean them.

Can I try if the choke circuit is not block, by get the carbs out and see if some petrol came out of the circuit, or it won't work ?

Thanks for the help guys.

Definitely a carb problem, think Mick is right, try and borrow a good set of carbs to prove it out.

Hi guys,

I finally found the picture I made a while back.

Could you look at it and let me know if I setup the choke cable in the right order?

I wonder if it should not be the other way arround.
Have to do a bit of fiddling when I want to use the choke.
Cheers
