Stock swinger takes a 5.5 x17 rim with 180 tyre. You either take away a little of the swinger's stiffening webs or take a few links longer chain to fix it half of an inch further backwards. I did that mod twice, took Bandit 12 gear.

Here's a mate's bike, which I modded.
Front is also B12, to regain some ground clearance I had the shocks extended by 40mm by some brackets.
*edit*
I used the Katana sprocket carrier on the B12 rim, because it's narrower.

Interesting what you said about longer shocks. I'm just changing my rear end (!) and was considering getting 350mm long shocks: am I better off trying to find 370+mm ones?

You lose most height on the front but you do lose some height on the back because of the lower profile tyre that goes on the slingshot wheel.
I modified the swingarm to raise the back end up by 20mm. So 20mm longer shocks would be about right.
The limmiting factor is the top chain run getting too close to the swingarm at the pivot.

Poochy's about right on the effect on the rear hight. Pure maths say 18mm difference in height by the different cross sections of 180 x 55 and 130 x 90 tyres.
