Been playing with the red 550 Kat as although it seemed to run well it has always been a pig to start when hot, also when opening the throttle up wide there was a little hesitation before it pulled cleanly.

I'd previously had the carbs off and cleaned them, set float heights, air screws etc so time for a balancing act. after an hour bitching and swearing and letting things cool down a few times, voila. . . . .

Only russian gymnasts have better balance :D

New air filter, swopped the laser exhaust for a motad which is a bit quieter but makes the engine seem much much smoother. 30 mile test run and i'm happy.
Pulls cleanly from 20mph in top gear and is much quicker through the gears when revved. 8-)

I've always had the vac guages here but seemed to have a mental block about balancing the carbs for some reason, this has now made the biggest difference ever to how it runs and they were not miles out to start with.
