theyre shells, but still pretty robust things. first telltale will be small metalic fragments in the oil. why, what symptoms have you got? 750s like clean oil often, change filter every 2 oil changes and clean the screen on the oil pump pickup in the sump as often as you can.

pop ups have a shell crank and fossie has done hundreds of thousands of miles on his with no bother.
ive seen 750s with fcuked cranks, but they were all from being run short of oil.
