casing black lettering and circle...
.....how would you do this on covers that have been powder coated? Am thinking of small paintbrush and then a wipe over the top of the letters with cloth with thinners on it to remove any paint not wanted.
Ideas?

Nah
no good. Thinners reacts with the powdercoat for some reason. Bugger

Re: casing black lettering and circle...
Steady hand and a very fine brush...........also have a piece of clean dry lint free cloth handy to remove any mistakes. No need for thinners...........maybe you can use white spirit if you make a bad mistake!

Re: casing black lettering and circle...
TBH the casing is a bit crap anyway. has a big dink at the bottom, so not that fussed. Should have got another one but ran out of time for the powder coaters.
Was really surprised thinners reacted with the powder. It really softened the powder coat. I thought powder was very tough and could resist pretty much anything. Obviously not
Never mind. Thanks for the advise Rob.

Re: casing black lettering and circle...
True.I think i might paint the letters a bit more and then shoot some lacquer over it.....then again I might not bother coz the lacquer might react with the paint ................oh bollocks.

Re: casing black lettering and circle...
Unless your garage or spray booth is heated, I wouldnt bother. If it is heated just give light coats of Petrol resistant laquer from Halfrauds..........Thats LIGHT coats, and build up the LIGHT coats..........
If you put it on too thick and fast..........it'll run and may react with the powder coating!

Cheers Rob. Am going to have another go with some black paint i found in one of the kids airfix kits
and then do what you said with the lacquer. Wont do it outside as its too cold. Remember doing some panels years and years ago in the cold. Went all cloudy
