Seat covering Fabric

Folks
I seem to remember that our resident seat covering expert( forgot who it is) could not find the material he was looking for in a dark enough colour.
I found this, whaddya think?

if that really is alcantara then its bloody cheap at 15 quid a metre, alcantara is normally 50 quid plus!!

Methinks its faux alcantara, which is more "accurate" for our seats than real alcantara I think, but then I may be talking complete bs....

true, alcantara was used because at the time it was the only fabric available anywhere that was even close to the stock fabric.

Bought some will have a lok at it and post my findings. If it looks the biz, then I will send it with seat to SteveA(assuming he is keen) and ask him to work his magic!

Any chance you could get a piece to Ian (who bought your 7/11 Kat) please, then he could bring it down to me at some point to have a look at.

Bought it, it looks to be quite a close match texture wise to the original, but the durability may be an issue. Also the colour is much lighter than it appears on ebay. Let me get back to them and find out if they have it darker, and do some rip tests too,
