I have a similar problem to Andy (fish), my pop up forks are pitted and its gone through 2 sets of fork seals in 2 years. To get them re-chromed and powdercoated its well over £300

Does anyone know of any front forks that could be used from another bike? I looked at my bandit 1200 and our lasses fazer 600 and both are too short

just get them rechromed for about £160 and paint the legs yourself

thats possible, I have seen ace results on fork legs with car alloy wheel paint, but would need to figure out how to strip forks, I have never done that before

not sure if they are anodised or painted, try a drop of paint stripper on the inside of the fork leg,if that works strip the whole lot, if not its grit blast or wet and dry.

So, how many sets of popup forks need chroming here ??

Just a thought but if we find out how many need it done then go to the rechromers we might get a better deal..
