Cunning plan with refernce to genuine look exhausts

Post by fossie » Mon May 27, 2013 6:20 pm

Some time ago on the old site I muted the Mivv silencers* as replacements for those needing original exhausts. :) :geek: (*Now marketed as Marving* available though WEMOTO.)
This design keeps your original down pipes ( I know you've a 4-1 now but bear with us here...!) anyway you cut the original silencers off and slip the down pipes into the Mivv silencers which are a black chrome jobby complete with the 2-1 branch like the original.
( There was a price of £195 in the original post but this must be adjusted.)
Well I have now come by some (cheers Andyswad )
Stay with me.....
In my mind Suzuki wouldn't have commissioned a company to build Zorsts for the rest of the range so far from the original drawings  ;)
So if this is true .....All we need to get made are downpipes and buy Mivv* silencers still available through Wemoto
Pictures tell the story. Is this something we should follow up on , Any interest or are they not original enough? :ugeek:

These look like the Marving ones but quite a bit cheaper. Marvings are also Italian so could they be same?

I'd be interested in dumping my noisy 4 into 1 for a more standard look but would need new headers to go with them. Can you get black chroming done anywhere though?

Good glad they seem to be of use to you, I would be interested in seeing them on a machine, another of my past good ideas that fell by the wayside.

Are you sure it's a Kat? Kat engine, Kat clocks, Kat wheels and forks? Mmm! It's not silver is it!

These ARE the same ones and he reason for is post is to gauge interest in finding someone to make the down pipes , find someone to black chrome or ceramic coat in shiny black.

Black chroming is still available but only on new exhausts, they don't want to contaminate the tanks. I would be very interested in some new down pipes and silencers, I do have a spare set of down pipes and a new RH silencer that could be used for patterns if needed.

Bump as we now have a bit more interest in the post and to be honest I should have titled it better, set it in a better location and put as a sticky , My Roman-name would have been Dicus Headus,.

the headers would need to be done properly and look right if you know what i mean. i've seen soo many "grafted together" silencers, link pipes, headers etc that fit badly or are too low / don't follow the lines on the frame etc... there is nothing more "shed built" looking than a pipe that doesn't fit properly and imo looks crap... REALLY crap. they'd need to be tight against the frame and follow the bikes lines, which brings me to.... how many different variants would there need to be to fit/suit all correctly in relation to engine dimensions?

just some random thoughts... ;)
