Does anyone know if a GS550 exhaust will fit on a 650 Katana? Not worried about the rear mount position, just at the head.

I have still got set of chrome GS650GT exhausts I want rid of! They wont fit straigt on as the rear mounts are different from the Kat650. Jmac has a set on one of his kat650s !!

You can have them for £45 posted.........they owe me more than that!

They wont win any prizes...........The rare bits are the down pipes and collector box which can be painted black, and the silencers can be replaced with black chrome ones!

And for £45 posted...................thats a lot less than what I paid for them!

Or you could always put a Wanted add in the Wanted section for some 650 Kat standard exhausts.............I have a feeling you may get lucky, but not £45 lucky

Thanks bobster, but I think I will stick with the rusty Marshall I already have for now. I aim to get my 650 on the road for next summer, on a strict budget, so plenty of time to search for cheap bits. Most of what I have is useable but needing work.

Doc44....its early days but my zorst was looking pretty sad on my pop up. After a bit of welding I painted it with VHT satin black high temp paint and it looks pretty damn good IMHO paint aint cheap but it will do until i can find something else to replace it.

What type of paint did you use, just regular exhaust spray? My exhaust could do with being welded at the collector but it's so rusty there it could be tricky, maybe gungum would be easier although it's a bit of a bodge.....

I used this stuff which is quite a good price . Its very high temp and the finish and coverage is very good. You can buy bbq paint !

My exhaust looked beyond repair and tbh i was going to bin it. Jez (aka Katman) had a look at it and reckoned it was worth a chance. His brother welded it up pretty damn good really and i am hoping it will last a year or 2 more.

If you can weld it up yourself it would prob be worth a chance. I spent a little more than i wanted but i liked the zorst and wanted to try and save it.

Under no illusion though. Rust ALWAYS comes back
