Getting a bit of a noise when i am starting off. Sounds like the chain clunking on something. Too loose or too tight or even just plain old knackard?

If anything then probs to loose. Sit on the bike and see how much the chain lifts up and down, should only be an inch at most.

Failing that I'm afraid it's check everything's tight as usual!!!

same chain / sprockets as before it was stripped? presume the clearance is ok and there isnt some minute front or rear sprocket where it scrapes across swingarm pivot?

Same sprockets and chain Steve. Thought i had adjusted chain ok but will have another look. Was thinking the chain might be knackered.

slackened it off a bit as it was a bit tight. Test ride tommoz to see if it helps. How much side to side movement should there be? seemed to have an awful lot of it.

Maybe should have checked it when it was off the bike. - another thing i forgot!!!

If you can pull it off the back of the rear sprocket and see daylight between chain and teeth then it's knackered. Also have you checked for tight spots, chain should always be adjusted at the tightest point, then if other parts are really slack again it'll be knackered.

Where's your centre stand ?, even if it doesn't fit with the pipe it only takes seconds to put it on and use a couple of allen keys or similar to slide through the bolt holes for maintenance purposes.

Get one off the vulture, i'm sure he has many in stock
