repairing fuel taps...

anyone have success in rebuilding their fuel taps? the one on my 650 barely trickled fuel out when i last test it... opened up it looked ok tbh, nothing too much out of the ordinary... but grubby but a clean out didn't do much to remedy. so, i've not heard anything that really makes me want a rebuild kit rather than a new tap. i've used pattern taps and they've work great in the past and tbh i'd rather just make sure what i bolt on it good and reliable rather that removing the tank, emptying it out. spilling fuel( yes it'll happen somehow!) and then doing it at a later date when the rebuild kit does work...

so... who's done what and what are your experiences with it. rebuild kit is a little shy of £14 while a pattern tap is like £46. huge difference. BUT if one saves pain further down the road, i don't mind getting a replacement..

:)

I have rebuilt them in the past with sucess, but they were never 30 years old then, so not sure.

I'll be doing Skruffy Kat's when I get back home. I have already had a couple of items sitting in the 'sonic bath for a while, now just need a kit to fit to them.
