Motobatt Gel Battery
Anyone got any experience of Motobatt Gel Battery replacements. Saw another post for another make that seemed to suggest Gel ones were OK, just wondered about this brand and a good price here on ebay.

Re: Motobatt Gel Battery
I bought one only recently haven't used it on the road yet as I'm still building but it turned my engine over a lot better than before and in running a 1500cc big block with 11:1 compression

Re: Motobatt Gel Battery
Using one on my Speedtrip
Seems to be doing fine
Think I got it from Wemoto
Had a different one on the Kat but it is not charging very well my Optimate keeps saying that it will not hold a charge
But that might be due to it standing for a while unused

Re: Motobatt Gel Battery
Was it these ones or another brand that suffer from cheap knockoffs ?? Buy from a trusted source I guess.

Re: Motobatt Gel Battery
Cheers for all advice - I'll get one as I hate having to get the battery out just for top up - last time I think it needed so much it's mostly watyer now!
Optimate 3 are good for Gel batteries (use on my VStrom and SV650 before that). Infact if you have one, I think you are better using an Optimate as if left for while (esp. over winter) I have found even fairly new Gel ones will not hold charge anymore and you'll have to replace.
Cheers
Rob

Re: Motobatt Gel Battery
if your battery is losing acid then it may be boiling dry. have you checked the chaging voltage with a multimeter at all?
