1982 1000/1100 Kat swingarm

Having put 1200 Bandit wheels on my Bike last year...over this winter I want to replace the original Kat swing arm. All seems ok and runs freely with a 530 chain and front offset cog...but a bit tight all round.
So question is...which/are there any swing arms which slot straight in, take the 5.5 wheel and also allow me to keep twin shocks? I do have a Bandit arm which came with the rear wheel but don't really want a single shock and the frame mods that would be needed.

Any help/advice would be welcome :?: :D

Cheers

Jerry

Get lower shock mounts welded onto the Bandit arm - no need for mono shocking - but I think the top mounts on the frame may need spaced out a bit.
Zephyr swing arms fit with a bit of top hating I believe.

I have also been told the bandit arms go in as do GSXR arms from the earlier models, L,M,N etc and was also advised to weld lugs on to take twin shocks.

The width between the frame rails is the same as a popup, 228mm from memory, GSXR,,L,M,N swingarms are wider than that at the pivot, you'll need to machine them down. Bandit 1200 is narrower and needs tophat spacers to fit in, much easier, also possibly GSXR750J,k may fit but you'd need to check measurements.

400 impulse arm, looks twice as strong as the stock kat, indeed it looks like a bandit arm with lugs for twin shocks on it!

If you are still considering a ZRX arm the zrx 1200 arm I fitted to mine required machining of the pivot tube to reduce the width to fit the frame and for fitment of new bearings. The diameter of the pivot tube was to large and hit the back of the motor so a bit of metal removal was needed there to. The shock mounts are fork type on the swing arm so needed to be changed to use Kat shocks. Not straight forward I`m afraid. Keep it simple and go with the bandit arm option
