Front Calipers - Piston?

Hi Chaps,
Anyone have any ideas as to what the diameter of the piston should be on the 650 please?
Only I bought a set of seals, supposedly for a GS-650 and they are wayyyy too small, in diameter, and thickness.
Just wondering if it has different calipers? They are aisin, and look the same though.....
Unless I've been sent wrong rubber!
Cheers,
J

Haven't got a 650 but did a bit of research. The Suzuki part number is 69107-05CF0 for the seal now, and according to this site (
http://www.z1enterprises.com/ItemDetail ... 43049-1097 ) it should be 38mm ID.
I did see a couple of sites list 30mm (bikepartsuk) but think that might be non Katana or non UK or wrong!
This is the part
http://www.discountbikespares.co.uk/our ... 5-RGV.html but no size listed.
So if your pistons are 38mm then I guess you have the wrong seals. If seals or pistons are not 38mm then you'll have to wait for someone with a 650 to post.

Rob,
38mm sounds about right.... And the ones I have are 30mm... And guess where they came from?
Yep!
Looks like I'll have to get em from Suzuki....
More expense!
Thanks for that!

Yeah I got the stainless pistons and seals from Wemoto for my 1100 and they were spot on. Also DiscountBikeSpares as linked above have always sent me the correct stuff, though it has always been genuine Suzuki. If you are getting genuine Suzuki it is worth checking with your local Suzuki shop as they can be the same price as online and no postage to worry about, and if you are lucky it will be 75 miles away (not as the crow flies) along a nice B road

The closest Suzuki agent to us is in Peterborough, and I've tried dealing with them, and they seemed a bit lethargic and had the couldn't really be bothered thing going on!
However, B&B Suzuki in Lincoln are top notch. Their classic guy, Tony is very helpful and really knows his stuff (unlike the youngsters at the other place - if computer says no, then they are stumped!). Lincoln is doable from here - Will be a nice ride! (apart from the A17 - Known locally as the Ho Chi Minh trail!).
I haven't got as far as installing the front brakes yet. If they work and don't leak then that can be a later on job, as and when funds are more readily available as the missus has blown all the surplus money on bike training (she is taking her MOD2 tomorrow).
Incidentally, has anyone ever heard of FECKIT brake lines?
Bought a set for the front, and for £60 they seem to be very well made and they are braided too. Everything supplied, even the banjo bolts and copper washers included. Had to replace them, as the braided ones on the bike ended up being too long, as it had real high almost "cow horn" bars on it when we got it, and I couldn't lose the extra 2"

I hate the A17 with a passion that can only be dreamed of! Mainly I think because once a broke a cam belt in a Sierra on the Sleaford bypass and it took the AA 4.5 hours to find me (it's not that long a bypass!) while going to Hull for a job I was doing. Checked in the hotel at about 4am for a 7am start in the end.
The guy at CJ Balls in Norwich is OK (Tom I think) when I got some Katana stuff last year and said he'll always match the Robinsons price, though now they have moved north of Norwich I don't go there so much, though I tend to use DiscountBikeSpares as above.
