Having just received my new needles all ready to get cut and painted. I prised off the first old needle and the pin that needle attaches to is too big for new needle. Anyone else have this problem and how did you resolve it please. Thanks

TT i bought 2 off the replacement needles only to find they had No holes, bit peeved but will alter them at a later date.(my katana clocks have 2 different size needle pivots).
Then scrathed me head and rembered someone else on here trying to fit other internals.
So i rumaged thru my spares department and found a gsx1100 clock set with some white needles, once i removed the back case a few screws later i could get to the needles to prise them off.
In picture you will see they are the right size next to original, but alot thicker and stronger.

The pivot holes on gsx needles were to big, but did notice how the needles fitted to the black carrier was very similar but the carrier are deeper than the Katana's, so i cut them off carefully.

So i then cut out the red needle from Katan carrier and tried to fit white gsx needle, but pins not in exact same location, so then chopped off small pin and kept larger pin and super glued it into katana carrier, but you will notice in picture that large pin came thru far enough, so i could melt it over to form a retaining head on back.

Completed doing both needles to both carriers and refitted to Katana clocks, and yes i am very happy with finished set
But you could paint needles to any colour you wanted but i like white against standard blue, probably paint another set black for my white faced set.

Ok, thanks for the info and the pictures. That gives me an alternative to trying to drill the new needle mounting holes bigger.
