Speedo Drive Info Needed (1100 but same as most GS of era)

Well I have found the issue with my Speedo that stopped on the way back from Belgium last weekend - it was the drive in the front wheel:
The rubber thingy behind the drive plate has disintegrated, which allowed the drive plate to move back (away from the wheel) and hence not driven anymore. Initially I thought that I had put on wrong - if you look at the side view of the drive plate it is curved and the "tangs" are not 90 degree to it. It still is probably my fault as I think I may of got a bit to OCD on cleaning as there was grease in there but not loads of it. I think suddenly doing 240 miles was a shock to it!
However I (luckily) got a spare on the set of forks I bought last year and the drive plate on that also is slightly curved with tangs greater than 90 degrees to surface:
I have straightened this so the plate is flat and tangs at 90 degrees (thinking it had been bent) but now I am not so sure - is it meant to be that way?
Does anyone else a spare they can check for me and let me know. If it is that way I'll have to bend back again! This time I will pack with grease...
Cheers
Rob
