I have quick question, my kat 400 is having carbs problem (the choke don't work) as you know and as I was talking to mate.
An idea come into my head, why would I not use a choke as simply as that.
And if it is really hard to start just use a bit of easy start.
I know it might not be really the right way, but it is a thought.
Another option is: restrict air by putting your fingers across the air intake of the filter housing. But in the long run it would be better to get the choke circuit working properly.
engines dont get 'addicted' to easy start. its a bit of an urban myth. the fact is, if an engine is so goosed it wont start without easy start, then it is cos it is goosed already. if it keeps needing easy start to make it run its cos its still goosed, and it will continue to be goosed till someone actually fixes it properly. its not that they are perfect mechanically but somehow have developed an intelligence to 'like' easy start. its cos they are in need of some repair work and their owners think its cheaper to keep buying easy start than rebuild them.
I won't be using easy start anytime soon cos I don't fancy being goosed

I totally agree, I need to fix it probably I hate bike which are temperamental on the start.
I have manage a rough start today, it was nice to here the engine running.
Sorry I won't hijack my own thread about this I put it already in the project section. if you fancy a pin there. Any idea welcome I would love to ride my kat up to Trim on the 4th and meet you guys.
I like the idea of block the air intake a bit, it is a good trick if you don't have a spray around.
