While pricing up some new pads, I was inundated with adverts for "GOLD" . I have always used EBC
but out of curiosity, has anybody tried the gold brand and if so, are they any good?

Never used them and stick with EBC HH. My view is you aren't really saving enough really to not use EBC.

There is an oldish review here: http://motorcyclesafetynews.com/?p=1994

Did you ever get your 400 back?

Hi Rob, It wasn't a case of saving money. I was just curious as I had not come across this brand before.
As for the 400....R.I.P.

Hi, the company name is GoldFren, I've had a couple of sets on my Kawasaki Kr-1, they are fine, they've got German TUV approval which is as good as it gets, mine are the sintered AD ones, they don't squeak, have a good service life and stop the bike, 'nuff said :)

ive got them on the bmw. theyre a pretty soft compound pad so ive no idea how long thy will last, but theyre incredibly powerful stoppers and the pads are easily capable of squeeling the front tyre in only moderate use. very disconcerting, but by far and away the best brakes ive ever had on a bike. the anti dive effect of thee funny front end on the bemmer can disguise just how hard you are braking, but when i hit the off ramp on the m55 at 120mph and grabbed a handful of brake, i had to let them off a bit or i would have stopped halfway up!
