Master cylinder rebuilds

Guys I need seal and piston kits for the front and rear brake master cylinders and wondered if you could advise where to source them from in the uk? The bike is an SAE 1100 which is similar to the SZ 1100. I also need some carb bits and would welcome suggestions where to source. Can you also tell me the most conclusive way to ID the carbs I have, I know they are 34mm Mikuni CV’s. Also looking for the standard carb settings please for reference.

Well for the brakes on my Kat I did rather cheat a bit and sent them to Past Parts in Suffolk, this was due to in some part my own "Muppetry" with the front master cylinder.

They did a pretty good job with the refurb including replacing the sight glass that was particularly deformed and opaque. Five years on and all is still good.

Suzuki still list the "Piston and Cup Set" for the SZ/SD I am guessing that they were fairly faithful to the original design for the SAE/SBE models.

I have also heard that Powerhouse are good but I think they only do caliper kits.

Carbs are a bit of a grey area, I will have a look to see if I have any manuals in pdf form with me as I am at work at moment.

If you are needing float bowls or tops etc. you are likely needing to get a bank of carbs off weEvil BAY or some where like that to cannibalize.

Haven't seen much in the way of diaphragms for sale recently though

Andy at NRP will be able to sort the bits for the carbs incl new diaphragms , he has them made in nitron now.

Does the masterful need to be original , a later Bandit replica is peanuts and is new and complete, with span adjuster etc. Did this on my 650 it was £20 incl post ...a gamble maybe but fit and forget, bled straight up. Just a thought. As with a bike that has no history the parts you are squiring bits for may not be the original or correct bit ... Especially imported stuff where bits are swapped / cannibalised.

Highly recommended to get viton O rings now. One kit comes from here:

I would only get kit "A" and not bother with kit "B" (unless you are really keen). I did do kit B but it was a bitch and I wish I hadn't and it still isn't quite right!

These are for the pipes that join the carbs together. Mine leaked last time so I had to buy them.
Polymax have a £10 min order (72 of those!) but PaulD is buying some so if he hasn't placed an order yet then you could ask to add yours and he could post on. i wanted 36 (12 for a bike, 12 for spare carbs and 12 spare cause I can).

I'm also buying some stuff from a Polish website (Vesrah valve cover gasket and more) and did see:

Really appreciate the help all, it's a great starting point in the right direction.

I've had a look at my carbs and the numbers on them don't seem to relate to the SZ carbs, so perhaps the 1987 SAE had different CV's fitted. The bike is really original so I'd be surprised if they had been changed but I've been wrong many times before. I'll try and upload some pictures of the bike and carbs.
