Ok i have stripped my rear shocks on the 400 Kat and am getting a mat to replate the rusty bits.
But has anyone give any guidance on rebuilding.
Not that complicated coming apart just the amount of oil and how to?
Thanks

they might not be rebuildable, can you disassemble them completely?

They are actually rebuildable .....I had my old 400 set rebuilt by UK suspension in Bradford ...they are now another company now .......but they were still on the bike when it appeared on eBay last year....some 10 years and well over 100.000 Kim's later.
So only partly useful info I fear.

Yeh they are in loads of bits (will take a picture as they are back from plating the weekend).
Watched a couple of Utube videos and it looks like they brim the motocross ones with oil.
A bit more research me thinks.

When my rebuilt ones came back there was a Schroeder type valve at the bottom of the reservoir , which they fitted to refill the reservoir .

Yeh thats for the nitrogen, i guess you could use it to fill with oil also but it would take longer and you may get air trapped!?
I will research it and let you all know, doesn't look too complicated!!!
