Push pull twistgrip

Post by Bob1000 » Wed Apr 03, 2019 1:09 pm

Afternoon all, looking for some wisdom.
Just had to replace the right hand switchgear on my 1000SZ, as the light switch had broken off somewhere unknown, and the new one that's come in the post only has one throttle cable...the old one has two.
I seem to remember seeing in a thread about push pull throttles....is it a different part number, or are they no longer available?
If I can't get the right switch body, can I put the light switch from the new body in the old one? Looks like a task getting the knob off??

The light switch is easy to replace once in side it is just a few electrical screws that hold a plate , so you could just remove grubbing X from new and fit in the old. Very small and fiddly but if I can do it with sausages for fingers and hamfisted paitance!

Thanks all, I will investigate the internals of the new switch and move the relevant bits to the old push and pull if I can....want to try and keep the old girl as original as I can!
