GSX Indicators: Disassembly of Original Suzuki parts

OK a niff naff thing but....

The 'pattern' indicators I bought are, not surprisingly, not as nice as the originals but I need to get rid of the huge stem on the rears.

Back in my memory I remember fiddling with some indicators on my old 650 Kat. Taking the new indicators to pieces was relatively easy, with my aim to utilise the shorter stem and stand-off from the pattern items but as much of the original Suzuki indicators as possible:

In trying to unscrew the stand-off inside the stem from the original Suzuki items I cannot get them to move by more than 10deg or so, with as much force as I am willing to put through them at least.

Is it possible to disassemble to original indicators? and if so is there a trick I am missing?

I'll also need to sort out some form of earth for the bulb too.

The originals are earthed through the washer on the stem . Inside the earth spike goes to the threaded part which is hollow. From there the earth is transferred to the mounting bracket.
They do come apart as the stem is separate to the indicator, the after market ones you have are for the many markets incl Germany who require longer distance from the rear lights to indicators.
Many aftermarket ones are twin wired , so the earth is built in.

The reason it may move is the stem through the middle is threaded both ends and blind in the middle, corrosion collects at this point.

The bike came with two Suzuki indicators (long stem) that are new and even these are no coming apart?

Since one of the indicators is in poor condition I will probably get it apart one way or another (destructively) to understand how to get the originals apart.

Really would be easier to get pattern short stems from M&p or wemoto , they are not much .
I must have about 10 of them just hanging about, but it seems that most people want prestine.

I fitted the long stem ones that came with the German log book......they are just indicators surely. :!: :!:

A quick check on wemoto gs 650 Gx indicator short stalk , all shiney new like £16.33

Or take a punt at the offerings I have ...I will photo them for you , donation to club and post.... :P
