No but. Have a set of Morgan tune you could borrow , far easier than clocks , just steel rods that rise up or down.

I had a Morgan carbtune but the rods started sticking and went to dial gauge then.

I do have my own set of dial type balances if you need to borrow John and the special tool, but maybe handy for the club to have a set. I have bought a brake piston puller as well which will be the clubs.

You balance the vacuum pressure of each carb setting to the default one which is number 3 .

Firstly, thanks to all who replied, but the reason I asked was that the colour of the plugs varied and no 1 plug seemed always oily.
As the bike originally was in a college workshop, god only knows how much tinkering went on. Although the bike seems to run ok
I thought I would check the balance out of curiosity. I know what you're thinking, "if it aint broke, don't try to fix it" I will not be adjusting it myself as I know very good mechanic who is willing to do it for a pint or thee. As you are the nearest Fossie, I would appreciate a loan of your rod, sorry rods.

Balancing the carbs won't alter the oiliness of the plugs , this is a mixture and is the little silver screws at front of carbs. Turning them down to stop but not pressure ...then turn them out 1 and 3/4 turns...take it for a run...check plugs if not white get the engine to tick over and slowly turn each screw minutely until the engine picks up ...a little more and it'll falter....take it back.repeat on all.....
Or use a colour tune kit which Andy will have. This shows the colour of the plugs and do the mixture.

Balancing the carbs on these Kats is via screw and 10mm lock nut ....the later water cooled are just a screw.

If it's number 1 only I would on a 650 GX , ensure the choke cable is disconnected. If the cable which is the daft though the headstock type as fitted to H****s of that era, it dosen't always retract number 1 slide as it is the furthest and the main pull point.
GZ are different and handle mounted on a semi wheel that operates slightly differently though the same if you get m drift.

ive a set of vac gauges that ive been trying to give away for ages and nobody wants them. there are no tubes, they perished ages back, its literally just the four gauges. free gratis and for nowt.

Can you get the tubes and get them working? Was looking at buying a set for the club as part of the loan tools, but if you have a set that work fine then we could just use those and Fossie can buy you a pint or 3.
Let me know as was going to get a set soon(ish).

Have bought a brake piston removal tool (for the club) that I have to say worked fantastically on the 400 brakes. So easy I wonder why I didn't use before! Now to test the vacuum brake bleeder once the new pistons and seals arrive.

The pipes are very easy to come by , I bought fuel pipe from a company called road and race ....in Kent I think and they supply all diameters .
