My rev counter works ok up to about 6000 rpm, then flickers and goes off scale.
Is there any easy fix for this, or time to track down a replacement?
Thanks in advance.

Re: GS 650 Katana Rev Counter
As it is a mechanical one , clearly the worm and peg drive is worn, so easiest way is source another Kat one ...from 550 or 650 ..550 has a slightly higher red line but no one will motice.
Or swap the drive from a GT model.

Re: GS 650 Katana Rev Counter
To be honest I'd check the cable first, the square end needs to be a square fit and can wear.
Also the worm drive on the rocker cover end, is the little 8mm bolt/ screw head that hold the locating tab tight or O ring worn if so the mechanism moves.

Thanks. I think I have a spare cable somewhere, so may be worth a try. Certainly cheaper than a new rev counter.
Will also check the rocker cover end as you suggest.
