Now I know why head was leaking, had to be one with the steel locating pin in the way

Well done. Did you heli-coil it then fit a new locating pin or do another way? Always handy to know.

Yep, very carefully, worst bit was removing the insertion tang from the recoil insert, without dropping it into the gearbox.
