Just out of interest, does the 400 Kat share a cylinder head with any of the impulse models?
might open the search options up a bit, not much though as they are imports as well!

County Durham eh, just down the road, there are a few Kat owners round here but not many.
How do Blix.. aye, just outside of consett, from Whitley Bay originally. the engine is identical to the impulse, couple of differences for distance the impulse has the PAIRS nonsense installed..
might see you around the doors ?

If you are into modifying then people have put bigger engines into the 400...
Which probably makes it even more entertaining to ride :-)

remember that its only the mk2 impulse that shares an engine with the kat 400, the mk1 impluse has a completely different motor. you cant mistake the difference impulse models, the mk2 looks like a small gsx1100 whereas the mk1 impulse is the ugliest motorcycle to ever stumble drunkenly out of the stationary cupboard at the office party trying to get dressed in the other persons clothes....

It's bad news from my guy in Japan. I emailed him a list of hard to get parts and he can only get these:

11482-32C10 CLUTCH COVER GASKET £18
09280-00032 ENGINE COVER O RING £12 (!)
11483-30B10 STARTER GEAR COVER GASKET £14
11489-33C00 OIL PAN GASKET £12
17858-46D00 WATER PUMP OUTLET HOSE £32
34196-49300 METER COVER GASKET £6

No head gasket.

Forgot to say, this does not include shipping or import taxes. Despite the 'trade deal' with Japan, we still have to pay import charges and taxes. Just the same as pre-Brexit.
