Norwich Katana

Hello from Rob,
Thought is was time I also added a few notes here. Been a Katana fan since about 1986 when working at a mates bike breakers in Outlon Broad, Lowestoft, we collected a dead 650 Kat. The engine was dismantled and the reason being was the gudgeon pin had come out of one of the pistons up and down the bore. On closer inspection the piston was not cast correctly so the circlip came out and hence the damage. I still have that piston in the garage - I should post a photo of it!
Anyway, got my first 650 that worked in about 1989, sold to a mate when I got my first house, couldn't live without it so got another 650 (US import, maroon and silver) in the mid 90's then a 750 popup (I saw that on Ebay a couple of year ago - was in Spalding at that time). First 1100 was in 1999ish which was an Italian import (Silver and Maroon) and I still know the guy who has it done near Wembley somewhere. I picked up a few too many speeding tickets on it so rashly sold it then instantly regretted it!
Took a few years to find a nice one again via Ebay from a man in Teddington. Again an Itailian import (reg SGF 180Y incase any old owners on here) but it's been resprayed in just the silver. Although in good nick it does need the odd thing sorting out, which isn't too bad - an excuse to escape to the garage.
Oh I forgot, I also setup the http://www.KatanaCentral.co.uk website (which I sadly neglect) in 1995. I must remove the forum from it and point users to here. I still have heaps of stuff to put on there but not the time at the moment.
Don't see many Katana's this way - only one I know is a bike meet I go to some Friday evenings at Whitwell Station near Reepham in Norfolk ( http://www.whitwellstation.com ) .
That's it.
Good to be here.
Rob
