Hi all!
52 year old married coal miner with 2 grown up kids, a 5 month old husky, a 3 legged cat that lives upstairs [because of the husky], 4 VW Golfs, and a 1986 pop-up that's been stood outside in all weathers for the last 15 years :o
First kat was a 550 back in 1987 followed by an imported Cyprus market 750 in early 89.
Foolishly traded 750 in against a brand new GPX600 in August 89 then had to get 4 wheels as offspring 2 arrived. Found a dying rat 550 in 1990 and brought it back to life....sort of ride and restore project. Bout a year later scouring the ads with a pocketful of notes found a pop-up for sale at on yer bike in Aylesbury. Purchase made...rode for a couple of years then laid up one winter and finances then wouldn't stretch to running 2 vehicles.
Started competitive fishing so spare money went down the proverbial...then got into VW Golfs.
Fast forward to today....I am looking for another Kat.

Nicky.

Well guys and gals I have always stressed to the mrs that the pop-up stays regardless of condition cos it's gonna be a retirement project but you all know how the best laid plans turn out lol. I suppose it's future depends on the next bike and how much room I can create in my single car garage which is rammed at the moment with gardening/DIY/Fishing gear that I never use but just might come in handy one day you know how it is lol.
Set my sights on another 750 of any sort but ultimately would like a big un!
That said i've watched a few tidy 650s go on ebay thinking should I/shouldn't I and then felt deflated when they'd gone! Actually bid on a few 750s in august but even though I was highest bidder never met reserve and they disappeared. A couple I just got outbid on at the death as I was driving to and from my parents in cornwall and my phone wasn't quick enough.
I'm that sad I even see the katana lines in other bikes that are totally unrelated....
