New Member .... Hello
About time I got around to regsitering having owned my 1982 GSX1100SZ since mid 1984 , also over the years I've had a 550 Katana and an import GSX400 SSN Katana.
In the 80's and early 90's I regularly toured the Alps and Switzerland on the 1100 both solo and two up.
The 1100 has gone through a number of restorations over the years from recieving a 'Custom Lids' paint job in 1985 and having had the frame powder coated on at least 3 occasions.
The last one about 12 years ago it also got the motor stripped and rebuilt top to bottom with a Wiseco 1166 big bore kit, ported head and every seal/gasket and fastener replaced.
A couple of years later the running gear was upgraded with GSXR1100K forks, GSXR 1100 J 18" front wheel ,uprated discs and calipers, master cylinder and custom top yoke with modified raised telefix clip ons ,
It is also running a 530 X ring chain conversion, GSXR1100K 5.5" rear wheel, radial tyres, JMC swinging arm and 365mm koni rear shocks.
All of the changes are fully reversible and all of the original parts including an uncut rear mudguard are safely stored in the loft .
Will post some pictures when I can work out how

Re: New Member .... Hello
As it is now, everything is easily reversible although why ?
The reason for the changes was when I owned the 400 (fitted with radials and better rear shocks) it was the bike of choice as it handled better, stopped better ans was a nicer ride on the country roadshttp://www.katanaownersuk.club/forum/download/ ... ew&id=3743
