Eyup!

Post by Coose73 » Thu Jun 04, 2020 11:15 am

Afternoon all!
I bought my Katana from a mate late last year, and since it already has a Katana Owner's Club sticker on the fuse box I thought I should sign up here!

Optimistically, I have to say that the lockdown has done me a bit of a favour as I've had the time to get it somewhere near to how I want it. There's still work to do on the springy bits but it's pretty close. I have a new set of shocks en route to replace the leaky Marzocchis, and another set of immaculate EFE forks that I'm going to sort with linear springs and emulators.
And, it may yet turn silver....

Once I get the chance I'll start a thread documenting the work to date. I did start one on the Old Skool Suzuki forum but soon realised it's a closed shop.

Right, next thing is to join the club.... 8-)

Intersted to know from whom you purchased such a machine.....though I recognise the reg as imported by west coast m/c in southport.

Blix you will notice I can post pictures but only if I can be arsed to dig out the laptop .....but then the pictures are from a stick ....

But yeah if our newcomer has Sussed it already he is clearly more expert than I .....mind you he mentioned .... Changing stuff on his bike so yep...

Why thank you for the welcome!

Yep, it's an import, previously an S2 with what I think to be an 1100ESD motor (24 bolt cam cover with a mechanical but unused tacho drive). It's difficult to tell from the engine number and there's not much else that gives it away.

I bought the bike with stock wheels, forks and brakes from a good friend of mine who lives on the south coast of Scotland. He acquired the bike a few years ago after a friend of his was sadly killed in a bike accident a few years ago (not on the Katana). :(
I've done quite a bit to it over the last few months, but like most it's still a work in progress.

I think my ability to post photos maybe comes from frequenting other forums, which too are a bit of a faff to do so!
