Hi!

Post by Smallkat » Wed Nov 18, 2020 11:12 am

Hi All,

I'm Dean and I live near Preston, Lancs. I am a shortarse (5'5" on a good day) and I have always wanted a Kat. Now that I have some pension money in the bank, I would dearly love a GSX400SS. However, these seem like rocking horse poo, so do any of you have an unwanted small Kat in your garage?

My current bikes are a Suzuki GT250 X7 in fairly good nick, another X7 that is a complete wreck undergoing restoration, a GT200 X5 needing restoration, a TS185ER that is totally restored and finally a great condition 2009 Buell XB12SS (sorry).

Try a PM to ibrakeformoose - he was going to modify a 400 but I think he has had a change of plans and might consider selling it.

It's more the weight of it. My Buell is about 180kg/400lbs, which is what I feel comfortable with as a maximum these days. In my past, I worked for Suzuki GB, so rode everything they had between 1996 and 2002. My favourite is the Hayabusa. But as I have got older, I don't need the speed and I don't need the weight.

My PM to ibrakeformoose seems stuck in the 'outbox'.

Geekay - I am willing to take a 250 with carb problems. Perhaps you can send me some details. It can't be worse than the pile of scrap X7 I am working on.

Not sure if you guys are pulling my leg about the SWB version!

Interesting. The published spec for the 400's wheelbase is 56.3 inches and for my Buell 54 inches. And mine is the 'Long' version, the standard is 52 inches! So I bet yours did corner nicely.

I've paid my money to join, when do I get to access the secret members only place? The suspense is killing me.
