Hi,
Newbie here ~ Jonathan Baker ~ aka “Jaybee” or just JB.
I live in Epsom Surrey and have entered my 2nd half century.
Been a Kat lover for years ever since my Dad bought a brand new 650 back in 1982 (KUL 760X)
I used to buy 650s myself in the 90s when I commuted as I loved the shaft drive and the 5 gallon tank! I’ve had one 1100 which I foolishly sold.
I have a small collection of bikes:
- 2018 FJR1300AE on which I have ridden 60,000 miles in under 3 years.
- 2019 R1250GS Adventure (for those roads that aren’t FJR friendly)
- 1984 GPZ900R A1 (full resto for use on sunny days)
- 1984 z750 Turbo (as per the 900)
- 1981 Katana 650
I’ve only had the Kat for a couple of months and am trying to bring her up to scratch. Biggest issue is an exhaust system (I camped on an old exhaust thread elsewhere.)
I’m fortunate enough to be retired so riding bikes / travelling is how I spend my time in non-COVID times.
Can’t wait for this lockdown to end!

650s dispatched for over 20 years ...most still in circulation , only stopped using them when I got issued a company bike.
Still got 3 ...
Welcome along, exhausts are an issue if you need a proper genuine one ...but options are out there.
