Re: about bloody time kat build
well, my shims came on friday, so as soon as we got home from the nabd rally i was off down the shed, all 16 shims now done, all clearances are in spec, cover back on, carbs and filters on, now i just need to put the tank on and fill it with some fresh oil and it can go for its mot test.

not much done tonight cos i didnt get home till late, but i got the fuel tap back on and sealed, then discovered that the tank cap had got tanksealer inside it and was all gummed solid, so i stripped it and cleared all the por15 out, so thats done and the tank is on, panels on fuel pips fitted. tomorrow hopefully its going to actually makee it outside, i didnt fancy firing it up at half 10 cos my neighbours might not share my enthusiasm.

and also, the paint, whilst it looks glossy and complete, is quite scratched and soft, so at some time im going to satin black all the panels.

grrrrr, fecking carbs again, starts perfectly and ticks over evenly on all 4 pots, but it just wont rev, as soon as i giv it a slight twist of the throttle, it bogs down and tries to stall, its running on all 4 and the carbs are spotless, its fresh fuel and plugs, but its just not willing to rev much over tickover, instead it just bangs and backfires. did i say that i hate carbs.....
Re: about bloody time kat build
We all hate carbs, but we'll miss 'em when everything goes electric.

if only, the point is that with f/i tuning is a bit more faff free, and the results are pretty impressive.PaulD wrote:Just to be clear, where does this chip plug into a Katanajohnr wrote:not too sure. motronic unit on the bmw, pop the top off, pull the chip out, plug in a 50 quid ebay chip, goodbye 85bhp, hello 105bhp, took me an hour with all the faffing and now it goes like buggery.
