Christ! 60 weeks? They actually said that to you?

My forks have been at Hard Chrome Plating for about 5 weeks now. I'm getting them 'next week' he says. But that's what he says every week.

Yep, hope they can get it down to a more respectable 20 :clown:
Hard chromer only took two weeks and 220€, what an example eh?
It's faster to break than to repair.

And my mechanic is still too busy to sort the valve clearances. It's been a very frustrating time.
My X7 frame came back from the powder coaters but the (now unobtainable) silentbloc bushes melted in his oven. "Oh yes, that happens sometimes" he said to me. Well, wtf didn't you advise me of this possibility first? I really am fed up of shit services. Even the expensive, meant to be the best ones are shit. I could of just sent it local and saved a fortune.
have you tried john carr at garstang?

I haven't, but have known my mechanic Pep for a long time. I get mates rates, but that means I can't be a priority.

There is a GSX250SS engine on ebay. It's in a village called Sleight near Whitby. It's only £100 so I thought it would be worth hoarding as a spare. Is anyone near there that buy and collect it for me? You would need to store it for a little while, until I get up that way. Obvs. I would pay petrol etc.

Thought I would tidy up the blob of glue on the carbs.

After picking it off and moving the pipe, it seems a lot of glue had got into the starter valve hole.

Anyway, all cleaned up and re-attached, with clear JB Weld.

It doesn't seem to run any better!
