One of the first things I did when I got my baby Kat was fit a smaller but legal number plate, like yours the original was much bigger than an average plate, it also had the dealer name on it, Bill Bunn motorcycles of Ealing, London, as the bike has an age related plate that is from the London area i'm assuming it was fitted by them when it came to the uk in the year 2000, I ordered the new plate from an e-bay seller and must have clicked on the wrong letter font section as it arrived with the word 'Katana' done in a scrolled type lettering, I had already ordered a 'KR-1' plate in bold lettering for my Kawasaki, but i'm really happy with the result.

Much wider audience of scrotes on tinternet......

...Maybe I’m too paranoid.

Not necessarily too paranoid.

Back in the dim and distant past. Wife MK1 answered a knock on the front door of where we lived and was met by 2 police officers asking about the owner of the XT600 Tenere I owned. As I was late back from work (overtime!) she was a bit shocked* to say the least.
Turned out a couple of scrotes in Kent had managed to clone my bike.

* Fairly certain she couldn’t care less now

One of the things to come out of the last AGM was moving the Project Forum to Members only for a bit more security, so I have now moved it, so only Club Members can see now - no longer open.

Personally for a rare bike I don't see to much issue with them being seen. If someone is going to clone they generally want the same vehicle and colour, so it passes the automatic recognition systems generally in use. If you were happy with any number from any vehicle there are lots of easier ways to get one.

Though that isn't always the case is it JMac - 650 plate on his 750 popup all way way to Denmark :-)

 Not only Demmark or just a pop up! ;) They are all Suzuki katana however...
I once followed a red Suzuki car in Liecester while driving a Truck , it dawned on me I had seen that reg number before ? :? It was actually mine from my red 750 Es ...when I questioned the driver he ...in an accent not from these shores ,told me it was a mistake made by the number plate maker and the 0 and 7 where the wrong way round ....he would get it sorted , I obviously took his name ...which was as likely to be bogus anyway....but it would cause so much confusion that the authorities would likely put it in file 13 ;)

Only a tiny improvement for Tinykat this time. New grips and bar end weights. The end weights are pattern off ebay, but made in Taiwan and pretty good quality for £13.99 delivered. These are meant for Bandits.

The LED bulbs for the warning lights have arrived, so I am going to have a go at those later. While I have the clocks off, I am thinking about repositioning the speedo needle, as mentioned in a previous post. How difficult is this? Or should I say - how easy is it to f~ck it up?

I've got the LEDs in, but a strange problem. They all work (after I had to swap a couple round) but the indicator LED only works one way. So if I indicate right, it lights up. Indicate left, nothing. So I turn the LED round in its socket, then indicate right, nothing, indicate left, it lights up. I replaced it with a functioning conventional bulb and it works both ways.

Still contemplating if I should try to move the speedo needle!

This was the problem:
P1110363.JPG
I gently tried to prise off the needle, but I didn't want to use too much force. So instead of moving the needle, how about moving where it stops?
P1110430.JPG
I put in a small (tiny?) wire secured to the screw. Is there any reason why this won't work?

Also, any advice regarding the indicator warning light would be helpful.

LED indicator warning light bulbs require a diode in each of the feed circuits otherwise they pass current into the opposite circuit. Had this problem with my Steam Triple instruments.
