Oil leak
So the old beast has sprung a leak, yes I hear you say again ! Last run out was Boxing Day & was smoking like a gooden seems to be from rocker cover front cam chain tunnel area, not 100% sure the head gasket is also leaking at same point
So do I fix the 820 or start on the 1100 I have had sat for a few years?
Had a quick look over the other motor this evening, outside is a bit rough, turned over OK & could hear compression, but only have a 6 by 7 shed to do the work.

Re: Oil leak
you dont really need them. all the mounts are the same but for the front lowers, so you can drop the engine in the frame and then measure the mounts yourself when its in situ

Re: Oil leak
And so it begins
Needs a bit of a de coke but generally seems like a viable motor.

Re: Oil leak
Mostly cleaned up now, going to grind the valves back in this week & need to source a new cam chain tensioner guide, have asked JohnR, had a thought does anyone know it they are the same as the 750?
Going to be dismantling the 820 motor in the chassis until it is lite enough to lift out. Is there enough clearance in the 750 frame to fit the 1100 barrels with the gearbox in place?
I'll have to get it done ASAP, suns out & I will be riding it to NABD, not sure if Footman James will cover me as it's not garaged anymore.
Nick if I get stuck lifting the motor I might call on you to give me a hand, have asked Toby at the moment.
Have a lowered front end & shortened shocks, but that's a longer term Short project.
