Will try the Jiff Lemon trip on #4 carb this afternoon and report back
Dunno about lemon trip, I’ve never tried injecting or snorting the stuff (don’t mention it to Mr Trump though
)
And I would leave the syrup/sugar and ice cream out of the mix as well
There rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!

Carb #4 was the last to get the treatment.
The Gunk bath had shifted a lot of the crud and it was looking fairly good, but all the galleries and fuel/air ports needed a good clean.

Float bowl had a coating of rust particles around the drain.
One side looked like a small woodpecker has had a go at it

As with a lot of this bike that Fred and I have found, one of the PO’s was a fully qualified Bodginator
Never seen the top of the “choke” plunger bent before...
Not sure of the best way to fix that. Might just have to look at pinching one off a set in the shed.

Waiting on some new JIS screws as the originals had to be removed with a percussion screwdriver and the heads would have distorted and one was completely shredded. New screws will be fitted with a medium strength thread lock.
So until the next time the carb will be marinated in GT85 along with it’s friends.

Looking good Jim, as for the galleries and holes in the body of the carb I always give every one a good blast through with the air line and then spray with carb cleaner. Seems to work for me

Hi Paul. Agree with you there. The carbs came out of the Ultrasonic for the last time, then into a bucket of fresh tap water. Then a good blow through with compressed air. The GT85 coating is to keep them clean until ready to re-assemble.
