Re: SMALLKAT
Am I right in thinking that to adjust the angle of the rear brake lever, you undo the top locknut and turn the master cylinder actuator rod? My rod seems a bit stiff (ooherr missus).

Re: SMALLKAT
That would be the correct procedure ...but it alters the travel on the level not the angle .
Are you sure the actual lever hasn't been put on too high so all the play is taken up.

That's great. I still haven't had a chance to take your old one apart yet, but I think I'll be getting one as mine and my "spare" both take a while until the bike starts.Smallkat wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 6:21 pm...thumbed the starter button. SPARK! Woohoo!
I put the tank back on and had the usual fight with the fuel and vacuum hoses. It's the clips that cause me the most aggro. A few cranks later and she's purring like a good 'un. And the fuel's been in the carbs for months.

Took her out yesterday and it started immediately on both occasions.

Re: SMALLKAT
I knew I was jinxing it! Been out three days on the trot. Starts lovely, fast idle from cold is fine, warm up, knock off enrichment, pull away, all perfect. 100 yards down the road, slight hesitation and stalls, whip clutch in, back out to bump it, then runs perfectly the rest of trip. Same thing when starting from hot, apart from I don't use the starter circuit, obvs. If you keep throttle open during the hesitation/stall, when it chimes back in you get a backfire. It's probably some odd ignition fault, but I hope it isn't the igniter.

Re: SMALLKAT
Surely not a carb problem?
I will check the starter circuit is closing correctly.

Re: SMALLKAT
Looks like it was the sidestand switch. I've bent the stand activating tab a bit and no problem on the ride to and back from JohnR's house today. Spoiler alert - no beanies at John's house!
