13 bloody L?

Post by Bob1000 » Fri Apr 30, 2021 6:37 am

Just started giving my old and very tatty 1000 a bit of a refresh, and want to recoat the frame....so what colour is standard??
Also, while I'm here... Anyone know how/if the rose joints come off the gear lever? Appears to have the metal pin peened over?
Thanks in advance...
Bob

I have had 13L scanned from a NOS front fender. If I give you the number you can order a tin at my supplier ;-)
It's faster to break than to repair.

Has anybody tried Ford's Silver Fox? I used to use it to patch up chips on the frame back in the days when the bike was my everyday runabout.

Silver Fox is the one that Ford had a big problem with in the 1970s. The undercoat that was used for it was not compatible and the silver top coats soon flaked off. There were plenty of cars running about looking as if they had some bad skin disease.

Nothing screams poor workmanship quite like wrinkles in your duct tape.
