Beelzebitch makeover

Post by PaulD » Wed May 05, 2021 7:24 pm

So before the nice weather comes  I've decided to give Beelzebitch a bit of a tidy up. First on the list is to sort the rotten silencers out. Fossie donated a full system in need of some tlc which I've managed to reclaim the outer pipes and silencers from. They are currently with my tame welding expert who is patching the Y piece up for me. I'll give them a few costs of VHT black gloss when I get them back. I've finished the Toyota headlight conversion so I will be able to see in the dark without all the carrots  Old Beelzebitch toppled over a couple of years ago and although I managed to slow the fall slightly  the indicator punched a hole in the fairing
Now I'm the first to admit paintwork and bodywork isn't my forte but I made a real pigs ear of this one. I dropped the fairing off at a professional plastic welder and sprayer to do the job properly. Some pics of my efforts before handing the fairing over. More pics of the headlight conversion and exhaust system to follow.

My spraying and bodywork skills are non-existent. Doesn't stop me trying though.

Disappointment guaranteed every time.

Ok my refurbished fairing is due back tomorrow so I've fitted my upgraded Toyota headlight conversion and tarted the headlight mounts up 8-) I've also set the alignment up as it's easier to do before I refit the fairing.
Next job is the repaired exhaust to paint and fit. I've been promised I'll have them this week so as soon as she's all back together I'll give her a dam good clean and polish then take her for a run out to Fossies gaff for him to take the piss out of

Don't forget to give it a bit of a buffing up outside his house. You know how much he appreciates that sort of activity. :D :D

Well my friendly tame welder has made a cracking job of my exhausts. He's plated the Y section which was pretty rotten. Luckily the silencers are solid.
Today's job has been taking the surface rust off with my die grinder and flap wheel. I then set too with the paint job. I bought some VHT gloss black exhaust paint which is guaranteed up to 600deg so fingers crossed they will be ok😎
